The Law of Karma or Cause and Effect
Karma is an absolute assertion of human freedom that governs and
monitors every deed, action, thought-word, and other things that connect you to
your conscious present. This will all be recorded in the Book of Karma and will
explain its subsequent flow back to us in our lives.
When an action occurs,
there will be a consequence arising from that action. Karma is both action and
reaction. Everyone has heard the expression, “What you sow is what you will
reap.” So, if you want to live a happy life, you must plant positive seeds in
every aspect of your life. Therefore, Karma implies the action of conscious
choice that creates you. When you choose an action that brings happiness to
others, the fruit of our Karma is to receive happiness.
At every moment we
have access to an unlimited number of choices. Some choices are made
consciously, some subconsciously. Unfortunately, some people claim that they
made mistakes and did not realize that their actions would hurt someone. But
they must realize that, before their crazy action was carried out. Are they
really not aware that their actions will hurt someone? They must stop and think
before they act. At any time, we have the choice not to participate or carry on
with our willful act. If we choose to continue, we must be prepared for
whatever consequence comes our way. If a con-man plans to scam people, then he
must be aware of his own intention, which is to trick you: then you are likely
to be corrupted by him. However, you could have made the choice not to
participate and fall victim to a scam by a con-person. Thus, you must stay alert
and be aware that the con-man is wearing a veil and not be scammed by him.

You are like a person asleep on a train, being held hostage, not knowing where
you will be taken. Then you have surrendered your freedom. You're doomed
because you subconsciously agreed to participate in what the crook told you to
do. Consequently, the effect of not being mindful has caused you financial loss
and pain and suffering. More seriously, without being cautious, you could have
endangered your own life. The con-man’s Karmic debt, however, is far more
damaging. He now will get a taste of what it is like to be conned. If his
payback does not happen immediately in this life, then it will occur in his next
life. He will have to come back and repay the hurt he has caused others. All of
our actions, deeds, thoughts, and words are recorded in the Book of Karma.

Hence, there is no escape, if our actions or intentions are to harm others, to
kill people, or to con innocent people. Your willful action will not be
forgiven until your wicked action is repaid. This is not a punishment, but you
will still be held responsible for your evil deeds that had wrongful
intentions. In any given scenario, there is one final choice. You must think
about your course of action over and over again before you make a move. You are
bound to accept your deeds.
You will receive negative payback for all of the
sadness and pain you cause as the result of a negative action. On the other
hand, you will be paid back positively for influencing happiness by way of a
positive action. It is your action that nourishes you, and it is others who are
affected by it.
How do you make the right choice? If you pay attention to the
sensations of your body’s reaction, you will know. If you feel uncomfortable,
your body will respond negatively. At the moment that you make a choice, you
must ask your body what the consequences of making this action are. If your body
senses comforting and positive results, this means that the action you are about
to take is the right choice. If your body senses a negative message, however,
then you must cease your action immediately before someone gets hurt.
For
some people, the uneasy feelings that they experience from their actions are in
the love-compassion area of the heart. If you are thinking of doing something,
then usually you get an instant message that tells you not to participate in it
or you will get hurt.
Nevertheless, if you neglect the message, then any
pain you feel is at your own risk. For example, you know a person is a con
artist, but you allowed him to enter your comfort zone. Consequently, you will
suffer monetary loss, as you did not follow your heart; you gave him a green
light into tricking you. The heart knew this already because it is connected to
your Authentic Self, which is aligned with the Oneness Source. Unfortunately,
you discarded your heart and the choice you made did not benefit you as much as
you though it would. You changed something that you thought could have led to
misfortune, mischance, and hurt. Your instant Karma is the pain that you cause
to yourself. You suffered enormous monetary damage, pain, tension, and worry by
permitting someone to harm you. This pain will last until you correct your
choice and stop making the mistakes you made previously.

What can you learn from your experiences and how can you amend mistakes that you
made to
benefit yourself and others? You may share your experiences by
writing a book about the dangers of con-artists lurking near you. Be conscious
of their charming talk and do not fall for their false facial expressions or
else you will get trapped and hurt. You must be vigilant because these
con-artists are everywhere. They are always hunting for their next victim. They
have no conscience: if they happen to trap you, then you will become their next
victim, which is unfortunate for you.
You need to eradicate your greedy mind
and do not believe what the pretenders offer you. This is especially true when
things become too good to be true. You must identify this and disconnect from
them without deference, and never engage with them. This transforms your Karmic
experience into positive energy.
You can transcend your Karmic debts by
silent meditation to cleanse your soul. When you have completed your meditation,
you will have become a little cleaner. Change your mindlessness and become more
thoughtful. The only choice you will create in your mind is to become a
conscious choice-maker. The actions you generate will continue and will benefit
you and those around you. Then your Karma will be happy and blissful. The best
way to lessen your Karmic debts is always to be aware of the conscious present.
In other words, you must be aware that your deeds will not hurt anyone, and you
need to pay attention to the conscious present. You can always ask your heart if
your actions bring happiness to you and to those who are affected by your
choices. Follow your heart for guidance and never allow yourself to participate
in any willful act intended to harm others. If you do anything to hurt others,
Karma will come back threefold to hurt you. Think before you act and be mindful
of your choices and actions in all the dimensions of your consciousness, in the
here and now. Then, you will become a conscious choice-maker and you will always
be comfortable, happy and cheerful. You will bring joy and happiness to others:
that will be your immediate Karma.
