Excerpt from: Seeing into the Golden Eyes of Buddha
Awakening compassion
If we understand how the Universe works, then we realize we have received everything we need. There is no need to fearing a lack. All we need to do is feel good and believe that all things are possible and available in the creative consciousness. That idea prevents us from constantly thinking of scarcity and clinging to our jealousy of others’ wealth. It is like a dark cloud that temporarily blocks the sun and all we see is darkness. But, in fact, we did not see the whole picture of warmth and comfort that is right here in the now. This is who we really are. We cannot see clearly, when we are one blink of an eye away from being fully conscious or awake.
Looking at ourselves through a transition glass is very different from following our usual habits. From this perspective, you do not need to change: you can do and feel whatever you like, and perhaps you are still a good candidate for enlightenment. You understand the life cycle of rebirth and human desire, and suffering is transcended. You can feel the world is full of suffering and that feeling is within you. There is also richness in small things that we like or dislike and so we do not desire them. The things that we love are clearly about ourselves, from within us so that we feel some sense of inspiration or satisfaction: that is our wealth. We are proud of recognizing who-we-really-are: a spiritual being that allows us manifest many positive things to ourselves and to benefit others.
To attain spiritual awakening you can stay where you are and make transformations to get where you want to be. You will feel the difference after you practice calmness and meditation within. If you are an angry person, you may need to use all your anger in your life as a means to awaken your compassion. Through meditation, you will learn how to accept yourself, and how to relate directly to pain and suffering, how accept painful experiences as a part of your life and stop running away from that.
